Now, we will study how to Editing cells and cutting. To replace the contents of a cell select the cell and type the new values to go into it. The old contents will be replaced automatically by the new terms. To delete cell contents, select the cell or cells and press the DELETE key or click the right mouse button and select Clear Contents.
Two ways exist to change a portion of the cell's content. First, select the cell and then click in the Formula Bar (see Figure 1 for its location).link ke posting 1 Now inserting or deleting characters can make changes. A second way of editing a cell is to double click on the cell of concern. Then changes such as insertions or deletions can be made directly in the cell. Depressing the ENTER key ends the editing in both of these cases.
To move data or formulas from one cell to another, Excel's Cut command can be used. It is similar to the Copy command discussed in the above section except that the contents of the selected cell are moved to the new location rather than just being copied. Select a cell, click the right mouse button, and select Cut. Move the cursor to the new cell location, click the right mouse button, and select Paste. The contents of the original cell are moved to the new cell.
